Training & Professional Experience

I completed my doctorate (PhD) in counseling psychology and masters degree in program evaluation at the University of Texas at Austin. After completing a pre-doctoral residency in clinical psychology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, I pursued a year of post-doctoral study at Southwest Mental Health Center, a San Antonio-based psychiatric hospital and community mental health center. My past professional experience includes directing psychological consultation services at Southwest Mental Health Center, serving as a consulting psychologist at Self Regional Healthcare, in Greenwood, South Carolina and offering clinical seminars and lectures to allied health professionals. I have obtained specialized training in executive and life coaching through the International Coach Federation-accredited MentorCoach program.

I find it inspiring to work with people who are enthusiastic and sincere in their pursuit of a meaningful, healthy, and balanced life. I feel fortunate to work with people who are deeply committed to pursuing their goals for personal growth.

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy hiking, travel, walking my dog, and spending time with my wife, family and friends.  I am an avid chess player and music lover, enjoy many types of ethnic food, and have an insatiable appetite for learning and personal growth.
